Thieves Tunnel Through Shared Wall to Steal $200,000 in Rare Pokรฉmon Cards from Southern California Shop

In a highly coordinated heist reminiscent of a movie, burglars tunneled through the wall of a Southern California collectibles shop, making off with nearly $200,000 worth of rare Pokรฉmon cards and sports memorabilia.

A Sledgehammer Bypasses Security

The incident took place at Do-We Collectibles, a specialized trading card and collectibles shop located in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Rather than attempting to breach the heavily secured front doors, the suspects entered an adjacent, unoccupied business. Using sledgehammers, they systematically broke through the shared drywall to create a human-sized hole leading directly into the card shop.

Once inside the store, the thieves smashed multiple display cases and swept shelves clean of rare, high-value Pokรฉmon booster boxes, graded trading cards, and sports collectibles. The total value of the stolen goods is estimated to be close to $200,000, reflecting the skyrocketing market values of rare collectible cards in recent years.

Burglar Drops Phone at the Crime Scene

Despite the sophisticated planning of the break-in, the suspects made a critical error. Security footage captured the moments the thieves scrambled back through the wall opening to make their escape. During the exit, one of the burglars accidentally dropped their personal mobile phone onto the shop floor. The phone was recovered by store owner and handed over to investigators.

Local law enforcement authorities are actively investigating the heist. Detectives are utilizing the recovered cell phone to track down the suspects, while also examining regional security cameras to trace the getaway vehicle used in the high-stakes robbery.
