Thieves Tunnel Through Wall to Rob Chesterfield Shop

In a sophisticated and destructive heist, thieves managed to break into a commercial premises in Chesterfield by breaching an external wall. The unusual burglary, which took place in late October 2025, has left local business owners shocked and prompted a full police appeal.

The offenders are believed to have targeted an adjacent alleyway or unoccupied space to work undetected, using heavy tools to create a hole in the brickwork large enough to crawl through. Once inside, they bypassed internal security sensors to steal high-value stock and cash before escaping through the same hole.

Derbyshire Police have described the break-in as highly planned. They are asking local residents, particularly business owners in the area, to report any unusual drilling or construction noises heard overnight, or any suspicious vehicles parked nearby during the week leading up to the burglary.
