Three Arrested After Resident and Police Officer Assaulted During Dudley Home Burglary

DUDLEY, West Midlands — A violent home invasion in Dudley has left a resident and a West Midlands Police officer injured, leading to the arrest of three suspects. The incident occurred on Grange Road shortly before 8:00 AM on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.

Police were called to the scene following reports that a group of men had forced entry into a residential property and assaulted a resident inside. Upon arrival, officers spotted a group of suspects fleeing the address and initiated a foot chase.

Assault on Police Officer

During the pursuit, officers managed to intercept and detain the suspects. However, during the struggle, one of the responding officers was assaulted. Despite the physical resistance, all three suspects were successfully taken into custody, and stolen items from the property were recovered by police.

Suspects and Charges

West Midlands Police confirmed the arrests of three men:

  • A 42-year-old man arrested on suspicion of burglary.
  • A 43-year-old man arrested on suspicion of burglary.
  • A 40-year-old man arrested on suspicion of burglary, assault, and assaulting an emergency worker.

A spokesperson for the West Midlands Police issued a statement reinforcing the force's zero-tolerance policy towards violence against police personnel: “We never tolerate any form of assault against our officers who work tirelessly to protect the public.”
