Three Arrested Following Gas Station Burglary and High-Speed Chase
CHICAGO โ A commercial burglary at a local gas station led to a dramatic, high-speed police pursuit spanning multiple jurisdictions and ended with the arrest of three Chicago residents, authorities announced on April 1, 2026.
The incident began in the early morning hours when officers responded to an alarm at a gas station convenience store. Upon arrival, police observed that the business had been broken into, with windows shattered and merchandise stolen. A vehicle containing three individuals was seen fleeing the location at high speed, ignoring emergency signals from responding squad cars.
Officers initiated a pursuit, which moved onto nearby highways. The suspects driving the getaway car drove erratically in an attempt to evade law enforcement. Police ultimately utilized tire deflation devices to safely disable the vehicle, bringing the pursuit to an end. The three occupants were taken into custody without further incident.
A search of the vehicle recovered stolen goods from the gas station alongside tools commonly used in burglaries. The suspects, whose names have not yet been released pending formal charges, face multiple counts including commercial burglary, felony fleeing and eluding, and possession of burglary tools.
The investigation is ongoing, with detectives examining whether the group is linked to other recent commercial break-ins in the region. No police officers or suspects were injured during the pursuit.
