Three Masked Suspects Sought in Portsmouth Restaurant Robbery

PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Investigators are searching for three suspects who allegedly worked together to rob a local restaurant on Thursday, July 24, 2025.

The Portsmouth Police Department responded to reports of a robbery in progress at a local dining establishment. Witness statements indicate that three individuals, all wearing masks and dark clothing, entered the restaurant and demanded money from both the cash register and several staff members. At least one of the suspects was reportedly armed with a handgun.

The suspects managed to escape with cash and personal belongings before police arrived. Fortunately, none of the employees or patrons inside the establishment were physically harmed during the encounter. Detectives are examining local surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses to establish a timeline and path of escape.

Community members who were in the vicinity of the restaurant on the afternoon of July 24 and noticed suspicious behavior or vehicles are requested to reach out to investigators. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to the Portsmouth Crime Line, where a reward may be offered for information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspects.
