Three men charged after firearm burglary in Cheltenham
Three men have appeared in court after being charged in connection with an aggravated burglary involving a firearm in Cheltenham over the weekend.
Armed Response on Tennyson Road
The incident began on the evening of Saturday, August 10, 2024, when Gloucestershire Police were called to a residential property on Tennyson Road shortly after 7:25 pm. A homeowner reported being threatened by intruders armed with a firearm who demanded money. Following the confrontation, the suspects fled, prompting a swift response from armed police units.
Arrests and Seizures
Shortly afterward, police intercepted a vehicle on Moors Avenue suspected of containing occupants in possession of a weapon. Officers arrested seven people in connection with the incident and recovered a firearm. Following interviews, police released four individuals and charged three men.
Charges Listed
The three suspects appeared before Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on Monday, August 12, 2024:
- Jamie Curran (34), of Cambridge Avenue, Cheltenham: Charged with having a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence, attempted robbery, and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
- Nathan Edwards (35), of no fixed abode: Charged with having a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence, attempted robbery, and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
- Jason Marks (48), of Norfolk Avenue, Cheltenham: Charged with assisting an offender.
All three men were remanded in custody pending their next appearance at Gloucester Crown Court.
