Three Puppies and $10K in Merchandise Stolen in Southeast Houston Pet Store Burglary
HOUSTON, Texas โ Owners of a pet store in Southeast Houston are pleading for the safe return of three puppies that were stolen during a devastating overnight burglary. In addition to the young animals, the thieves took a massive haul of premium retail products.
Puppies Taken and Store Ransacked
The burglary took place in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Store footage shows the suspects forcing their way through the front entrance before heading directly to the puppy enclosures. The stolen puppiesโwhose health and safety are now of top concern to the ownersโinclude three young dogs that require specialized care and diet.
"Our primary concern right now is the safety and well-being of these puppies. They are very young and need proper veterinary care and attention," the store manager expressed.
High-Value Inventory Targeted
In addition to the animals, the burglars cleared shelves of high-end pet food, specialized accessories, and veterinary products, totaling over $10,000 in retail value. The Houston Police Department is investigating the incident and is working to identify the suspects from the surveillance footage. Community members are being asked to keep an eye out for anyone attempting to sell young puppies online or in public spaces.
