Three Tuscaloosa Businesses Targeted in Overnight Smash-and-Grab Burglaries

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Detectives are investigating a series of coordinated smash-and-grab burglaries that hit three different retail and commercial establishments in Tuscaloosa overnight.

According to the Tuscaloosa Police Department, the break-ins occurred in rapid succession during the early hours of the morning. In each case, the suspects used heavy objects to shatter the glass storefronts, allowing them to gain quick entry into the businesses. Once inside, the perpetrators targeted cash registers and high-value merchandise before fleeing the scene before officers could arrive.

Business owners arrived in the morning to find shattered glass and ransacked interiors. Local authorities believe the same crew is responsible for all three incidents due to the similar methods, timing, and descriptions of the suspect vehicle observed on surveillance cameras.

Security footage from the affected businesses is currently being analyzed by forensic teams. The police have asked local residents and business owners in the area to check their security cameras for any suspicious activity or vehicles during the early morning hours.
