Trapped Inside: Skylight Burglar Locked in San Francisco Game Store Arrested with $4,000 in Loot

In a bizarre turn of events, a burglary suspect was arrested after getting locked inside Game Post, a popular tabletop gaming store located on Third Street near Oracle Park in San Francisco, on the night of Thursday, May 28, 2026.

Caught in the Act

The break-in occurred late in the evening when the suspect climbed onto the roof of the commercial building and managed to enter the store by squeezing through a skylight. While the entry was successful, the suspect quickly realized that all ground-level exit doors were securely locked from the outside, leaving him trapped inside the shop.

A vigilant neighbor noticed the suspicious activity on the rooftop and immediately phoned the San Francisco Police Department. When officers arrived and entered the premises, they discovered the suspect hiding inside, holding bags filled with high-value collectible card games and board games. The total value of the recovered inventory was estimated at over $4,000.

A Struggling Small Business

Game Postโ€™s owner, Diana Goldman, noted that this incident was part of an ongoing pattern of security challenges for the shop. The store has been targeted by multiple break-ins since March 2026, leading to significant property damage and loss of specialized inventory. In response to the mount of repair costs and stolen goods, the store has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help support the business and reinforce its security measures.
