Two Apprehended After Shots Fired in Gas Station Smash-and-Grab Spree

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A rapid sequence of burglaries and gunfire at local gas stations ended with the arrest of two suspects on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. The commercial smash-and-grab incidents prompted an immediate, high-priority response from the West Hartford Police Department.

According to authorities, officers responded to the first location following reports of a break-in. Upon arrival, police discovered shattered glass and evidence of a smash-and-grab style burglary. Shortly afterward, a second gas station was targeted, during which shots were fired, escalating the situation and endangering nearby residents.

Using vehicle descriptions provided by witnesses and surveillance feeds, patrol officers successfully located the suspects' vehicle. After a brief pursuit, the two individuals were taken into custody without further incident. Both suspects face charges including burglary, criminal mischief, and weapons violations as detectives investigate potential links to other local crimes.
