Two Armed Bank Robbery Suspects Apprehended in Pueblo Following Multiple Failed Carjacking Attempts

PUEBLO, Colorado — Two suspects are facing federal and state charges following a chaotic sequence of events on March 28, 2026, which began with an armed bank robbery and ended in a series of failed carjackings.

According to the Pueblo Police Department, the two armed individuals entered a local bank branch, brandishing firearms and demanding cash from the tellers. After securing an undisclosed amount of money, the suspects fled the scene, but their escape plan quickly deteriorated.

In a desperate attempt to secure a getaway vehicle, the suspects made three consecutive attempts to carjack unsuspecting motorists in the vicinity. Fortunately, none of the carjacking attempts were successful, and no citizens were injured during the encounters. The failures allowed responding officers to establish a perimeter and corner the suspects near the scene of their final carjacking attempt.

Both individuals were taken into custody without further incident. Officers recovered the stolen cash and the firearms used in the commission of the bank robbery. The suspects are currently held at the Pueblo County Jail on multiple felony charges, including armed bank robbery, conspiracy, and attempted aggravated motor vehicle theft. A joint investigation involving local police and federal authorities is currently underway.
