Two Arrested After Armed Robbery at Murfreesboro Dollar General

MURFREESBORO, Tennessee — Two suspects are in custody following an armed robbery at a Dollar General store in Murfreesboro, thanks to a rapid response by local police officers.

The incident occurred in late April when two individuals entered the retail location, produced a weapon, and threatened employees before taking money from the register. Immediately after the suspects fled the scene, store staff contacted emergency dispatch, providing a detailed description of the suspects and their escape vehicle.

Patrol officers in the area spotted a vehicle matching the description and initiated a high-risk traffic stop. Both occupants were detained without further incident. During a search of the vehicle, officers located a firearm and the stolen cash, linking the suspects directly to the robbery.

Both suspects have been charged with aggravated robbery and are being held at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. The names of the suspects have not yet been released pending formal arraignment. The Murfreesboro Police Department credited the quick thinking of the store employees and the swift action of the responding officers for resolving the situation safely and successfully.
