Two Arrested After Theft of 15 Forklifts From Business Near Doral

DORAL, Fla. — Two suspects are in police custody following a major heist involving the theft of fifteen industrial forklifts from a commercial business property located just outside the Doral city limits, authorities said.

According to the Doral Police Department, the theft occurred over a weekend when the business was closed. Investigators believe the suspects gained access to the yard, bypassed the security ignition systems on the heavy machinery, and transported the forklifts away using flatbed trucks. The total value of the stolen equipment is estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

A joint investigation by local police and county auto-theft detectives led to the tracking of the stolen vehicles to a nearby industrial site. Officers conducted a raid on the location, recovering several of the stolen forklifts and arresting the two suspects who were actively trying to alter the vehicle identification numbers.

The two individuals face charges of grand theft, burglary, and possession of altered identification marks on machinery. They are currently being held at the county jail. Investigators are working to recover the remaining missing forklifts and determine if a larger theft ring was involved.
