Two arrested following burglary at shoe shop in Whalley

Burglary at Lanx Shoes in Whalley

According to an article published by Lancslive on 21 January 2026, two men are currently in custody following a break-in at the Lanx Shoes store located on Mitton Road in Whalley. Lancashire Constabulary reported that officers were called to the premises at 11:47pm on 19 January.

Staff members stated that approximately 100 individual shoes were taken during the incident. Notably, the thieves only removed right-footed shoes from the display, leaving behind other items of value. Following the burglary, a police pursuit took place on the A59.

Lancslive reports that a 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary after a car was stopped at Langho at 12:10am. An 18-year-old man was taken into custody shortly thereafter in Brockhall Village. The business owner noted that the company, which also operates a store in Manchester, has previously been targeted by burglars. Both suspects remain in custody as the investigation continues.
