Two Arrested Following Late-Night Gas Station Robbery in Chico

CHICO, California — A late-night robbery at a local gas station ended with the arrest of a man and a woman after Chico police officers quickly located their getaway vehicle, authorities said.

The incident occurred late Wednesday night when a suspect entered a Chico gas station, threatened the clerk, and demanded cash from the register. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled the scene and entered a waiting vehicle driven by an accomplice.

Chico police officers responding to the emergency call spotted a vehicle matching the description nearby. A traffic stop was initiated, and officers identified the occupants as the suspected robber and the getaway driver.

Both suspects, a man and a woman, were arrested and booked into the Butte County Jail on charges of robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime. The stolen cash and evidence linking them to the crime scene were recovered inside the vehicle.
