Police apprehend suspects in Oxford crime spree

According to reports from Wapt and WMC, the Oxford Police Department has arrested two men in connection with a series of vehicle thefts and commercial burglaries. The suspects, identified as 22-year-old Caleb Carrothers and 20-year-old Demarcus Govan, face charges including commercial burglary, motor vehicle theft, and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Authorities state that the criminal activity began on September 24, starting with a vehicle theft in a commercial area on Heritage Drive. Subsequent investigations linked the suspects to additional incidents, including the theft of two cars from the Brittany Estates Apartments on September 29. Investigators also determined that the pair had stolen personal belongings from multiple vehicles throughout the city.

The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to examine the extent of the suspects' involvement in these reported crimes. The arrests follow a period of increased criminal activity that prompted a coordinated response from local law enforcement.
