Armed robbery incident in Tamworth

According to an article published on 25 August 2025 by the Northerndailyleader, two men have been charged following an armed robbery in Tamworth. Detectives have charged Kyle James Menzies, 22, and Jyedan Frederick Osborne, 20, with robbery armed with an offensive weapon.

The Northerndailyleader reports that the incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, 20 August, in the Robert Street area. Oxley police allege the two men followed and attacked a 39-year-old man at approximately 3:20 am. The victim sustained significant injuries, including those from a knife and being stomped on, and was transported to Tamworth hospital for treatment.

Following the incident, police arrested the 20-year-old suspect at the scene. Menzies was later arrested at a Quinn Street address. In addition to the robbery charge, Menzies faces charges of intimidation and custody of a knife in a public place. The victim has since been released from the hospital and is recovering at home.
