Two Charged Following Violent Attempted Armed Robbery at New Lenox AT&T Store
NEW LENOX, IL — A violent attempted armed robbery at a local cellular retail store has resulted in felony charges against two suspects following an intensive investigation by the New Lenox Police Department (NLPD).
The incident occurred in early September when suspects entered the AT&T store located in New Lenox. During the attempted heist, a store employee was confronted and pistol-whipped by the offenders. The suspects fled the scene immediately after the physical assault, leaving the worker injured.
Following an active investigation, NLPD officers arrested a 27-year-old Chicago man, charging him in connection with the robbery attempt and assault. Weeks later, police announced that a second suspect was identified and formally charged for his role in the violent encounter. Both men face multiple felony counts as the legal process moves forward.
