Two Charged with Serious Assault and Robbery Following Beechwood Road Incident in Inverness

Two men have been arrested and formally charged by Police Scotland following a violent incident on Beechwood Road in Inverness, which resulted in a victim suffering severe injuries and being robbed of personal property.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, 25 March 2026, prompting a swift response from emergency services. Officers and paramedics attended the scene on Beechwood Road, where they treated a victim for serious injuries. The victim was subsequently transported to Raigmore Hospital for further medical treatment, where they remain in stable condition.

Following a rapid investigation by Inverness CID, detectives tracked down and detained two male suspects. The men, aged 28 and 31, have been charged with assault to severe injury and robbery. They are expected to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court in the coming days.

Local residents expressed concern over the high level of violence involved in the attack. Beechwood Road, located near key commercial and academic facilities in Inverness, is typically a busy area, making the brazen nature of the crime particularly shocking to the local community.

Detective Inspector Colin Reid commented on the arrests: "Violence and robbery have no place in our communities. Thanks to the quick response of local officers and assistance from the public, we have apprehended two individuals in connection with this serious incident. We would like to reassure the public that this was an isolated event with no ongoing threat to the wider community."

Inverness police continue to appeal for any witnesses who may have been in the Beechwood Road area on the afternoon of 25 March and who have not yet spoken to officers to come forward.
