Two Florida Memorial University Football Players Charged in Armed Dormitory Invasion

MIAMI GARDENS, FL — Police have arrested two Florida Memorial University (FMU) football players in connection with a terrifying armed robbery and home invasion inside a campus dormitory, authorities confirmed on Friday.

The suspects, identified as active members of the university’s football program, allegedly entered a student residence hall room by force. According to investigators, the players were armed and demanded valuables from the occupants. The victims, who are also students at the university, immediately contacted campus security and law enforcement after the suspects fled the scene.

Campus Response and Security

Following a rapid investigation by the Miami Gardens Police Department, both individuals were taken into custody and charged with multiple felonies, including armed burglary and robbery. The university administration released a statement addressing the incident, reiterating their commitment to maintaining a secure environment for their student body.

"We are deeply saddened and concerned by the incident that took place in one of our residential facilities. Violence has no place on our campus, and we are working closely with law enforcement to ensure justice is served," the university statement read.

Both players have been suspended from the football team indefinitely pending the outcome of the legal and disciplinary processes. They are currently being held at the Miami-Dade County jail.
