Two Men Deny Armed Aggravated Burglary at Pembrokeshire Property
Denials in Aggravated Burglary Case
Two men have formally denied charges of aggravated burglary following an alleged armed break-in at a residential property in Pembrokeshire. Chad Forrest, 33, of Nelson Avenue in Hakin, and Daniel Fairlie, 31, of Fleming Crescent in Haverfordwest, recently appeared at Swansea Crown Court to enter their pleas.
Details of the Allegations
The pair are accused of unlawfully entering an address on Charles Street in Milford Haven as trespassers on April 26. According to the charges, they were allegedly armed with a truncheon and entered the property with the explicit intention of stealing. Both Forrest and Fairlie pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them.
Trial Date Set
Following their not-guilty pleas, Judge Paul Thomas KC formally set a trial date. The trial is scheduled to commence later this year on October 13. In the meantime, both defendants have been remanded back into custody and will await their trial date behind bars.
Securing Your Home Against Armed Intruders
While incidents involving armed intruders are deeply concerning, residents can implement robust security measures to protect their homes and families:
- Ensure front and back doors are solid-core and fitted with anti-snap cylinder locks and heavy-duty deadbolts.
- Install a monitored smart security system that allows for immediate, silent panic alerts to law enforcement.
- Reinforce vulnerable entry points such as ground-floor windows with shatter-resistant security film.
- Keep exterior areas well-lit with motion-sensor floodlights to eliminate hiding spots for potential intruders.
