According to an article published on 21 February 2025, two men have been sentenced following an armed burglary at a Morrisons store in The Row, New Ash Green. ITV reports that the incident occurred on 22 November 2024, when Callum Knox and Damian Smith forced their way into the premises using crowbars while wearing balaclavas.

Responding to an intruder alert, Kent police officers arrived at the scene while a staff member was challenging the suspects. According to ITV, Smith surrendered to officers, while Knox attempted to flee, brandishing a crowbar and engaging in a struggle with police. Both men were eventually restrained and arrested.

Knox, 38, and Smith, 44, both of Southampton, pleaded guilty to burglary. At Canterbury Crown Court on 13 February 2025, Knox was sentenced to two years and one month in prison, while Smith received a sentence of two years and ten months. Knox also admitted to two counts of assaulting an emergency worker during the encounter.
