Two Suspects Killed, One At Large After Violent Apartment Invasion Near River Oaks

HOUSTON, Texas — A violent home invasion at a west Houston apartment complex near the upscale River Oaks area has left two suspects dead and a third fleeing from police. The incident occurred at the Gael Apartments on Essex Lane when masked men forced their way into a residence.

According to the Houston Police Department, a group of masked intruders broke down the front door of an apartment. During the invasion, a shootout occurred inside the unit. Two of the suspects were fatally shot during the exchange of gunfire and were pronounced dead at the scene. It remains unclear whether the residents or another party inside the apartment fired the lethal shots in self-defense.

A third suspect managed to escape the scene before police officers arrived. HPD has launched a manhunt for the individual, who is considered armed and dangerous. Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the Gael Apartments complex and searching for witnesses who may have seen the fleeing suspect or any getaway vehicles.

The Houston Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding the identity or location of the third suspect to contact their homicide unit or provide an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
