Two Teens Arrested Following Salem Robbery Where Getaway Car Struck Store Employee

SALEM, Oregon — Police have arrested two teenagers in connection with a violent robbery at a local Salem establishment, during which a store employee was struck by the suspects' fleeing getaway vehicle.

The incident occurred when the suspects entered the store and attempted to flee with unpaid merchandise. When a store employee confronted them, the suspects got into their getaway car. In their haste to escape, the driver accelerated, striking the employee. Fortunately, the employee did not suffer life-threatening injuries, though the act elevated the theft to a robbery and assault charge.

Following an intensive investigation spanning five days, Salem police detectives successfully located and arrested the two teenagers. They face multiple charges, including robbery, assault, and reckless endangerment. Both suspects have been booked into a juvenile detention center pending their court appearances.
