Two Violent Home Invasions in Juneau Result in Indictment

On May 15, 2026, two separate violent home invasions took place in the Mendenhall Valley area of Juneau, Alaska. The first incident occurred at a residence on Glacier Highway, where the intruder forced entry through a rear window. The second incident happened just minutes later at a nearby home on Riverside Drive, where the intruder also gained entry through a rear window.

The intruder, identified as 32-year-old local resident John Doe, was indicted on multiple charges including burglary, assault, and theft. During the first invasion, Doe stole approximately $5,000 worth of electronics and jewelry. In the second invasion, he stole around $3,000 worth of cash and valuables. The total value of the stolen items is estimated to be $8,000. Both homeowners were injured during the incidents, with one sustaining a broken arm and the other requiring stitches for a head laceration. Doe was apprehended by police shortly after the second invasion, as he attempted to flee the area on foot.
