Vandals Caught on CCTV Smashing Windows of Renowned Glasgow Hair Salon

A prominent Glasgow hair salon has been left with hundreds of pounds in damages after two vandals targeted the business, smashing multiple windows in a series of deliberate attacks caught on security cameras.

The incident occurred on Great Western Road at the well-known Hair by Hanlon salon. On the night of Saturday, June 6, at approximately 10:30 PM, CCTV footage captured a hooded individual approaching the storefront with his back to the glass. A second young male then came into view as the first suspect delivered a forceful kick to the window using the heel of his foot, shattering the glass pane.

In a bizarre turn of events, the pair returned to the scene roughly 15 minutes later to smash a second window. Salon owner Billy Hanlon expressed his shock and disappointment at the senseless act, noting that there was no attempt to gain entry to the property.

“We are upset and disappointed that two young men appeared to target our business for no reason,” Hanlon stated. “There were many passersby at the time; it seemed to be an act to cause wilful damage rather than an attempt to break in.”

The salon staff have urged anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information about the suspects to contact the authorities. Police Scotland have been notified, and the security footage is being handed over to assist officers with their ongoing investigation.
