Vapes and cigarettes stolen in burglary of Oxford neighbourhood Co-op

Police are investigating a commercial burglary at a local Co-op convenience store in Oxford, where thieves made off with a substantial quantity of cigarettes and e-cigarettes.

The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning when offenders forced entry through the main entrance of the neighborhood store. Once inside, they targeted the counter area, clearing out the secure gantry containing tobacco products and a wide variety of vaping devices.

Thames Valley Police arrived at the scene shortly after the store's security alarm was activated. Forensic officers have been examining the site for evidence, including CCTV footage from both inside the store and surrounding streets.

Local residents expressed concern over the break-in, noting that the community shop is a vital hub for the neighborhood. A spokesperson for the Co-op confirmed that while significant damage was done to the storefront, no staff members were present during the break-in, and the shop is expected to reopen once repairs are completed.

Authorities are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity or vehicles in the area around the time of the break-in to contact them immediately. Information can be provided anonymously via CrimeStoppers.
