Vehicle collision damages shop in Rustington

According to Sussexexpress, emergency services were called to the scene of a collision at the Grape Tree shop on The Street in Rustington on Tuesday morning, 9 September 2025. Sussex Police reported that a car collided with the shop front at approximately 11:05 am, resulting in significant destruction to the premises.

Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene, where one patient was assessed and subsequently discharged. Sussex Police confirmed that no injuries were reported and no arrests have been made at this stage. The vehicle involved in the incident has been recovered, and the B2140, which was partially blocked following the crash, has since reopened.

Staff members noted that the shop sustained a major amount of damage and remained closed for the remainder of the day. Sussex Police are currently conducting enquiries to establish the circumstances of the incident and are urging witnesses, or anyone with relevant CCTV or dash cam footage, to contact them quoting serial 500 of 09/09.

Business owners are encouraged to regularly review their storefront security measures and perimeter protection to mitigate the risk of accidental or intentional vehicle impact.
