According to an article published by Sussexexpress on 12 February 2026, Sussex Police are investigating a break-in and criminal damage at a Co-op store located on High Street in Lindfield. The incident occurred in the early hours of 12 February.

Sussexexpress reports that a vehicle was reversed into the front of the shop, resulting in a destroyed window. Police and PCSOs were observed at the scene later that morning, with the area cordoned off by police tape. According to a Sussex Police spokesperson, a group of suspects fled the scene in a separate vehicle following the impact. No items were reported stolen during the incident.
