Vernon police hunt for man and accomplice in attempted break-in

VERNON, Texas — The Vernon Police Department is actively searching for two suspects involved in an attempted break-in at a local property. Investigators are seeking the public's help to identify the individuals captured on security footage during the incident.

Suspects Caught on Security Cameras

The attempted burglary occurred in the early hours of the morning. Security cameras on the property captured a man approaching the entry point and attempting to force open the lock using specialized tools, while his accomplice stood nearby monitoring the street for passersby and police patrols.

Fortunately, the security hardware on the door held, preventing the suspects from gaining access to the interior of the building. After several unsuccessful attempts, the pair abandoned their efforts and fled the area on foot.

Police have released photos and video snippets from the security feed. The primary suspect is described as a male wearing dark clothing, gloves, and a face covering, while the accomplice appears to be wearing a light-colored jacket and a backpack.

Vernon Police Chief urges residents to review the footage and report any recognizable features or suspicious activity. "Even the smallest detail could help us identify these individuals and prevent future break-ins in our community," the Chief noted.
