Video shows teen mob wreaking havoc inside Sacramento store

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento police are investigating a disturbing incident after surveillance footage captured a mob of teenagers ransacking a convenience store in the Power Inn neighborhood of Sacramento.

The incident occurred on the night of Thursday, March 19, 2026, at a Chevron gas station store located on the 8000 block of Folsom Boulevard. Security footage shows a group of 25 to 30 teenagers swarming the store, grabbing items off the shelves, tossing snacks and drinks, and running out without paying.

The store manager, Shailesh Chand, was the only employee working at the time. He described the situation as terrifying and chaotic. "They just came in a huge group and started tearing the store apart. They threw things at me and just stole whatever they wanted," Chand said. "There was nothing I could do but watch and try to stay safe."

The theft was officially reported to law enforcement on March 23, 2026, and police are now reviewing the security footage in an effort to identify the individuals involved. Business groups in Sacramento are pointing to this incident as another example of organized retail theft affecting local merchants, calling for stronger enforcement and support for retail workers.
