West Palm Beach Teenager Charged with Attempted Murder After Armed Robbery and Shooting in Home Depot Parking Lot
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. โ A late-night meeting in a Home Depot parking lot turned into a scene of gun violence, leaving a 19-year-old fighting for his life and another teenager facing severe criminal charges. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) has arrested 19-year-old Jeremiah Ostin in connection with the incident.
According to investigators, the victim had arranged to meet with Ostin on the night of October 23, 2024, at the Home Depot parking lot located at 7233 Seacrest Boulevard. Upon arrival, the victim was confronted by an SUV occupied by three individuals. Two suspects exited the SUV and entered the victim's vehicle. One of the suspects held the victim at gunpoint with an AK-47-style rifle while Ostin demanded the victim's backpack.
After the victim surrendered his belongings, the suspects exited the vehicle. In a desperate attempt to defend himself or stop the suspects, the victim attempted to strike them with his car. In response, the suspects opened fire on the vehicle, shooting the victim in the abdomen. Despite his severe injuries, the victim managed to drive away and contact emergency services.
Detectives utilized social media connections to identify Ostin as one of the key participants in the heist. Ostin was arrested by sheriff's deputies and faces charges of attempted first-degree murder and robbery with a firearm. The search for the other suspects involved in the incident remains active.
