Windsor Police K9 Unit Helps Apprehend Commercial Break-In Suspect

WINDSOR, Berkshire — A break-in suspect is in police custody following a swift response by Windsor Police, aided significantly by a K9 officer. The arrest occurred in the early hours after police dispatch received an alarm signal from a local commercial property.

Officers arrived at the business within minutes of the alarm trigger and discovered signs of forced entry at the rear of the building. Believing the suspect might still be in the immediate vicinity, officers quickly secured the area and called in a K9 team to conduct a search.

The police service dog was deployed and quickly established a track starting from the point of entry. The K9 officer tracked the scent to a nearby storage yard, where the suspect was found hiding behind a stack of shipping pallets. The suspect was arrested without incident after being challenged by the K9 handler.
