Wisconsin Woman Serving Stayed Sentence Accused of Burglarizing Rochester Home, Attacking Police Officer
ROCHESTER, Minn. โ A Wisconsin woman who was out on a stayed prison sentence is back in custody after allegedly burglarizing a home in Rochester and attacking a responding police officer.
According to police reports, officers responded to a residential alarm at a home in Rochester. Upon arrival, officers encountered a female suspect inside the residence, identified as a Wisconsin resident. When officers attempted to place her under arrest, the woman reportedly resisted and launched a physical assault against one of the responding officers, causing minor injuries.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect is currently serving a stayed prison sentence in Wisconsin for prior offenses. The new charges filed against her in Olmsted County include second-degree burglary, assaulting a peace officer, and obstructing the legal process.
She is currently being held at the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center awaiting her initial court appearance. The officer involved in the assault was treated for minor injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.
