Waterloo Regional Police reported that officers were called to a business near Hespeler Road and Sheldon Drive on Friday at approximately 6:50 p.m. following reports of a theft.
Ctvnewsca reports that a large group of youths entered the premises and were observed taking a quantity of fireworks before fleeing the scene. While three suspects were initially seen leaving on foot, police later located one individual during proactive patrols in downtown Kitchener on Sunday. A male youth was subsequently arrested and charged with theft under $5,000. In accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the age of the accused has not been released. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
