Zion Roland Arrested Following Armed Robbery on Saint Andrews Drive in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC — A Wilmington man is behind bars facing felony charges following a swift police response to an armed robbery on Saint Andrews Drive. The suspect, identified as Zion Roland, was apprehended after a coordinated search operation involving a police canine unit.

The incident unfolded on Monday, February 16, 2026, when Wilmington police officers were dispatched to the vicinity of Saint Andrews Drive near 17th Street following reports of a robbery involving a firearm. According to authorities, the victim was confronted by an armed suspect who demanded personal belongings at gunpoint. Following the robbery, the suspect fled the immediate area on foot.

Responding officers quickly established a secure perimeter around Saint Andrews Drive and deployed resources to locate the suspect. A K9 unit, featuring police dog Kraken, was brought in to track the suspect's path. Kraken successfully tracked and located Roland hiding in the nearby area. Roland was arrested without further incident.

Roland has been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Given the serious nature of the offenses and his criminal history, Roland was booked into the local detention facility and is currently being held without bond.
