Cork: JCB Driven Through Mallow Supermarket in Brazen Attempted Burglary

A shocking and highly destructive attempted burglary took place in County Cork, leaving a local supermarket severely damaged. The incident occurred during the early hours of the morning, at approximately 1:30 a.m., targeting a business located just off the R619 in the Bellevue area of Mallow.

Heavy Machinery Used in Ram-Raid

According to reports, the perpetrators executed a brazen ram-raid by driving a heavy-duty JCB teleporter directly through the shopfront in a desperate bid to gain access to the premises. The sheer force of the collision caused extensive structural damage to the supermarket. In addition to the JCB, investigating officers noted that a white Peugeot flatbed truck was also utilized by the suspects at the scene of the crime.

Gardaí Appeal for Witnesses

Officers are particularly interested in speaking with road users who may have been travelling in the Mallow area around the time of the incident and might have captured dash-cam footage of either the JCB or the white Peugeot flatbed truck.
