Armed robbery and car break-ins in Kenosha
On August 1, 2023, an attempted armed robbery occurred at a residence on the 400 block of 52nd Street in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The suspect, later identified as a 24-year-old man, approached the victim, who was sitting in a vehicle, and demanded money at gunpoint. The victim managed to escape unharmed, but the suspect fled the scene without any money.
Following the attempted robbery, the suspect was also linked to multiple car break-ins in the same area. The total value of the stolen items from the car break-ins is estimated to be around $5,000. The stolen items included electronics, cash, and personal belongings.
On August 15, 2023, the suspect was arrested and charged with attempted armed robbery, multiple counts of burglary, and possession of a firearm by a felon. He pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The police also recovered some of the stolen items during the investigation.
