Armed Robbery at Indianapolis Jewelry Store Leads to Arrest

On October 19, 2023, a jewelry store located at 5600 N College Ave in Indianapolis, Indiana, was the target of an armed robbery. The suspect, later identified as 28-year-old Michael Johnson, entered the store around 10:30 PM and demanded valuables at gunpoint. He escaped with an estimated $50,000 worth of jewelry, including rings, necklaces, and watches. Johnson was seen fleeing the scene on foot, wearing distinctive Bugs Bunny boxers, which later aided in his identification.

Police were able to apprehend Johnson within 24 hours of the incident. He was taken into custody after a tip from a local resident who recognized the distinctive boxers. Johnson was charged with armed robbery and is currently being held without bail. No injuries were reported during the incident.
