Armed robbery at Lamerton petrol station

According to an article published by Plymouthlive on 23 January 2024, a man has been sentenced to prison following an armed robbery at Lamerton Stores and Carrs Garage near Tavistock. The incident occurred on the afternoon of 27 October 2023.

Plymouthlive reports that 21-year-old Kurtis Lennox entered the premises wearing a mask and gloves. CCTV footage presented in court showed Lennox brandishing a handgun and pointing it at the head of a female shopworker while demanding cash. A second employee also had the weapon pointed at her when she entered the room. Lennox fled the scene with £350 before being apprehended by armed officers in a taxi nearby.

Lennox, who pleaded guilty to the robbery, stated he committed the crime to pay off a significant drug debt. Following his arrest, police recovered the stolen cash and a large knife from the vehicle. He has since been handed a jail term for his actions.
