Arson and High-Value Theft in Kippington Road Burglary: Saab and Valuables Stolen

Detectives in Sevenoaks are appealing for witnesses and information following a highly unusual and destructive burglary at a residential property on Kippington Road. The incident, which took place between Wednesday, 3 January and Thursday, 4 January 2024, has left the victims distressed after their home was broken into, ransacked, and set alight.

According to Kent Police, the homeowners returned to find their property breached. Upon entering, they discovered that a fire had been deliberately started in one of the rooms. Although the flames had thankfully extinguished themselves before engulfing the entire house, the blaze left significant scorch marks on the walls and smoke damage throughout the room.

Valuable Items and Vehicle Stolen

The intruders did not just cause damage; they also executed a major theft. A black Saab estate car was stolen directly from the driveway. Furthermore, a variety of high-value personal belongings were taken from inside the house, including fine jewellery and delicate porcelain items.

Most notably, three valuable paintings were stolen. Kent Police have released images of two of the stolen artworks in a bid to locate them:

• A portrait depicting a woman.
• A detailed seascape painting.

A third painting, representing a group of cows, was also taken, though no photographs of this piece are currently available for public release.

Police Appeal for Public Assistance

Investigating officers are urging anyone who was in the Kippington Road area during the specified timeframe to check any dashcam, doorbell, or CCTV footage they may have. Authorities are also calling on art dealers, antique collectors, and the general public to report any suspicious offers of high-end paintings, jewellery, or porcelain.
