Attempted Home Invasion in Jacksonville Ends in Gunfire and Theft

On the night of October 1, 2023, an attempted home invasion in Jacksonville, Florida, ended in gunfire and theft. The incident occurred at a residence on the 1000 block of River Road. According to a neighbor's doorbell camera, two individuals approached the home around 10:30 PM, armed with guns. They attempted to force their way into the house but were unsuccessful. During the confrontation, gunshots were fired, and the suspects fled the scene.

The suspects managed to escape with a vehicle and jewelry valued at approximately $5,000. No injuries were reported. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is actively investigating the incident and has made no arrests as of yet. Police are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to the identification and apprehension of the suspects.
