Aurora Man Charged After Violent Home Invasion and Police Chase

A man has been charged after a violent home invasion in Aurora, Illinois, on September 22, 2023. The incident occurred at a residence on the 100 block of North Lake Street. The suspect, identified as 32-year-old John Doe, forcibly entered the home and attacked the resident, causing significant injuries. The resident was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

During the home invasion, Doe stole cash and jewelry valued at approximately $10,000. After the attack, Doe fled the scene in a vehicle. A police chase ensued, during which Doe was eventually apprehended. No injuries were reported to the police officers involved in the chase.

John Doe has been charged with aggravated battery, residential burglary, and felony theft.
