Bank Robbery in Elk Grove Village Leads to Arrest of Suspect

On October 12, 2023, a bank robbery occurred at the First Midwest Bank located at 1500 N. Arlington Heights Road in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. The suspect, later identified as a 30-year-old man from Dixmoor, entered the bank and demanded cash from a teller. The suspect did not display a weapon but implied he had one, leading to the teller handing over an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.

Following the robbery, a citizen's call to the Elk Grove Village Police Department (PD) provided crucial information that led to the identification and subsequent arrest of the suspect. The police were able to apprehend the suspect without any injuries to either the suspect or the public. The suspect was charged with bank robbery and is currently in custody. The police have not disclosed the exact amount of money stolen.
