Burglary and Theft in American Falls

On Sunday, August 20, 2023, a burglary and theft incident occurred at a residence in American Falls, Idaho. The suspect, identified as a 35-year-old Pocatello man, broke into the home through a window and stole a safe containing $20,000 in cash and jewelry valued at $10,000. The total value of the stolen items is estimated at $30,000.

The suspect escaped the scene in a vehicle, which was later recovered by police. The vehicle was found abandoned near the intersection of 1st Street and 5th Avenue. The suspect was apprehended after a brief chase and is currently facing multiple felony charges, including burglary, grand theft, and fleeing the scene.
