Burglary and Theft in West Omaha

A 23-year-old man from Plattsmouth, Nebraska, has been arrested in connection with two burglary incidents that occurred in West Omaha. The incidents took place on September 29, 2023, at separate locations in the West Omaha area. The first burglary occurred at a residence on the 17200 block of West Maple Road, where the suspect entered the home through an unlocked window and stole a laptop valued at $1,500. The second burglary took place at a business on the 17200 block of West Maple Road, where the suspect broke a window to gain entry and stole $2,000 in cash from the register.

The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Michael Johnson, was apprehended by police after a brief chase. Johnson was taken into custody without incident and is facing multiple charges, including burglary and theft. No injuries were reported in either incident.
