Burglary at Popular Portland Food Cart Pod

On the evening of October 10, 2023, a burglary occurred at the popular Hawthorne Asylum food cart pod in Portland, Oregon. The incident took place after the dinner rush, around 8:30 PM, when the area was less crowded. The suspects gained entry by breaking a window and then proceeded to smash through the glass doors of multiple food carts.

The thieves targeted several carts, stealing cash and other valuables. The total estimated value of the stolen items is $5,000. The stolen items included cash from the registers, a laptop, and other personal belongings of the vendors. The suspects were able to escape the scene before police arrived. No injuries were reported.

Police have made an appeal to the public for any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects. They are asking anyone with surveillance footage or who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. The Portland Police Bureau is actively investigating the case and has not yet made any arrests.
