Burglary at Somerton Post Office Leads to Arrests of Three Men

Three men from Bridgwater, Somerton, and Street have been charged in connection with a burglary that occurred at the Somerton Post Office on the night of 16th January 2024. The suspects, aged 21, 25, and 30, were apprehended after a thorough investigation by local police. The burglars gained entry to the post office by smashing a window and made off with a significant amount of cash and a safe, estimated to be worth £20,000. The suspects escaped in a vehicle but were later apprehended by police. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Police have appealed to the public for any information that could assist in further investigations. The three men, whose identities have not been disclosed, are currently in custody awaiting further legal proceedings. The Somerton Post Office has since reopened and is operating as usual.
