Burglary Suspect Captured After Falling Through Ceiling in Fresno

A burglary suspect was captured in central Fresno after falling through the ceiling of a home on Tuesday, September 12. The incident occurred at a residence in the 1600 block of East California Avenue. The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Jose Luis Martinez, was attempting to flee after breaking into the home and stealing various items, including a television, a laptop, and jewelry valued at approximately $5,000. Martinez entered the home through a rear window and was discovered by the homeowner, who alerted the police.

Upon realizing he was cornered, Martinez attempted to escape through the attic but fell through the ceiling into the living room. He was immediately apprehended by the police. Martinez was taken into custody and transported to the Fresno County Jail, where he was booked on charges of burglary and criminal trespass. No injuries were reported in the incident.
