Cedar Rapids Man Charged with Burglary and Stolen Weapon Charges After Break-In

A Cedar Rapids man has been charged with burglary and stolen weapon charges following a break-in at a local residence. The incident occurred on the 200 block of 16th Avenue NE in Cedar Rapids. Police responded to a report of a burglary in progress on the evening of October 14, 2023. Upon arrival, officers found that the suspect had forced entry into the residence through a rear window. The suspect was able to escape before police arrived, but a subsequent investigation led to the identification and arrest of 32-year-old Jacob Johnson.

The stolen items included a handgun valued at $500 and a laptop computer valued at $1,000. No injuries were reported in the incident.
